Who is GHOST ZERO?

Ghost Zero is an amalgam of two people…the body of Eddie Quick and the ghost of Charles Pallentine.  Using the mysterious “Spirit Ring”, Eddie can allow Charles to “possess” him for limited times.  During those times, Eddie’s skin turns spectral (transparent) and wisps of ectoplasm “bleed” from his eyesockets.  Typically, when the possession occurs, Charles is the one ‘driving’, in that his conciousness supercedes Eddie’s.  Eddie ‘blacks out’ and has no memory of what happens in the Ghost Zero form.  Outside of the possessed state, Eddie is pretty much a typical, athletic, american teenager.

What does Ghost Zero do?

The Spirit Ring allows Ghost Zero to summon and speak with ghosts.  As you can imagine, being able to ask a dead person who killed them is a big advantage in finding the murderer!  That’s mostly what Ghost Zero does..find murderers and ‘bring them to justice’.  Occasionally, ghosts themselves will become a problem and need to be destroyed.  Ghost Zero has a pair of Civil War era LeMat pistols that he uses to fire ectoplasmic bullets….which hurt ghosts as much as they can tear through flesh.

It sounds like lots of killing is in these stories!

Yes.  The comic can be very action-oriented, so people get hurt and even killed.  I try to show it in a realistic manner, however, so even when the bad guy gets what’s coming to him, it’s not a ‘feel good thing’.  Death is serious business.

 

 

How long has this comic been going on?

I started telling the first GZ story, “Sea of the Dead” online in December of 2006.

How often is it updated?

I try to update the story twice a week.  Since I have a day job, and since the art takes a bit of time, I only make it once a week, but I always try.

Will Ghost Zero be published as a comic?

Yes.  I’ve self-published a collection of the “Sea of the Dead” and “The Fleshless Legion” storys in the “Ghosts with Guns” book that you can buy from the front page.  I’ve also had “The Cast-Iron Coffin” short published by Moonstone books, and plan to collect the “Vigilante Crypt” story into printed form through Moonstone.
